Tissue group Cartiere Carrara acquires two tissue companies

The Italy-based tissue group having extensive reach all across Europe is growing its position through its M&A-based growth approach

Cartiere Carrara has finalized the acquisition of two tissue converting companies Carind and CRC from the Caldaroni Group. The accretion will enable Cartiere Carrara in furthering its growth and bolstering its presence in the tissue paper industry.

Carind produces a range of tissue and sanitary paper products such as toilet paper, hand towels, and napkins, mostly for the Away-from-Home (AfH) segment, and the food service, hotel and catering industry (Horeca). CRC which has its production facility in Sermoneta, Lazio region, makes toilet paper, handtowels and napkins.

The unification and merger of these companies in the Cartiere Carrara Group will pave a way to enhance its position in the AfH market which is one of the key focus segment and will significantly strengthen its premium tissue products range for the AfH and the At-Home/consumer segments.

Cartiere Carrara, established in 1873, is a leading European manufacturer of tissue paper products for the consumer and trade markets. The company presently operates six tissue mills with its current capacity of 240,000 tpy (tons per year). Owing to its technologically advanced production system and automated lines, the company is one of the leading companies in the health and sanitation sector.
