Georgia-Pacific going to expand Dixie Paper Plate and Bowl Operations in South Carolina

The US Company is slated to invest USD 145 million to be utilized in upgrading its manufacturing facility of Dixie.

Georgia-Pacific has declared its plans of putting an investment of more than USD 145 million for its facility located in its Dixie plant in Darlington, South Carolina. The invested money will be used in expanding its plate and bowl making operations and in the up gradation of the facility. This latest outlay is because of the rise in consumers’ demand for these well-known household disposable products- paper plates and bowls.

David Duncan, executive vice president for Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Group says “This truly is an investment in our customers and consumers who use our products and value the Dixie brand. The demand for our plates and bowls continues to grow as consumers value the Dixie brand’s unique combination of convenience and performance.”

The investment at the Dixie manufacturing unit is intended to enhance and modernize the paper plate and bowl operations. The company is likely to put a tranche of the investment to install new machinery, and a new plate printing press and furthermore, a new modern warehouse is also going to be a part of this expansion.

Dixie offers an extensive range of disposable cups, plates, and cutlery and it is one of the most recognized brands in North America for its disposable tableware that comes in a variety of designs and sizes.
