Holland, Michigan- based Boxed Water Is Better is the leading sustainably packaged water brand which has announced the contents of their packaging material which is derived from plant-based sources and it is the highest rate achieved in the market as of yet. Besides, the packaged water brand also added a new plant-based cap to every package in order to attain maximum sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint.

Daryn Kuipers, CEO of Boxed Water says “Recycling efforts can no longer keep up with the world’s plastic production, and the shift toward plant-based products is critical for our planet’s wellbeing. Our product is almost entirely plant-based, and we are proud to have the highest sustainable content in the water category, at about 92%.”

The sources from which the plant-based cap is made from is the residue waste from FSC-certified sustainably grown trees used for pulp and bioenergy, and has lower carbon emissions as compared to petroleum and sugarcane. Each Boxed Water carton features a plant-based design, made from paper that is derived from trees in sustainably managed forests. The brand is committed to provide 100% recyclable and BPA free packaging as a part of their commitment towards sustainable and eco-efficient methods.

Kuipers added “we needed to create a better plant-based cap than what was currently being offered by avoiding sugar cane, we are using substantially fewer natural resources and generating a lower environmental footprint.”

Even before this recent move of going for recyclable packaging, from the outset, Boxed Water Is Better had always espoused for responsible packaging and did not use plastic and aluminum or any material in its packaging which could be harmful to the environment. The Boxed Water is available in different sizes such as 250mL, 330mL, 500mL and 1 liter box, and is packed in 6-pack, 12-pack and 24-pack configurations.
